There’s something special about working with businesses that are built around real, meaningful moments. Sam Evans Studio is one of those. As a live portrait artist, Sam captures people in real time at weddings and events, creating personal artwork guests can take home with them. Her work is elegant, expressive, and full of life, and she needed a website that felt just as considered.
Sam came to me looking for a site that would present her work clearly and professionally while still feeling warm and artistic. She wanted something refined enough to appeal to wedding clients, but personal enough to reflect the experience she offers. Most importantly, she needed a space that would help potential clients quickly understand what she does, how it works, and why it’s such a special addition to an event.
Why Espresso Martini Template was the perfect starting point
For this project, we used the Espresso Martini template as the foundation. This template is designed for creative service providers who want a refined yet grounded feel without unnecessary complexity. It has a strong structure, clear navigation, and space for both visuals and storytelling, which made it the perfect base for Sam’s business.
Because live portrait artistry is quite unique, her website needed to guide visitors gently through the experience. The Espresso Martini template already offered a thoughtful flow, allowing us to highlight her work visually while also explaining her services in a clear and welcoming way. Its refined layout and approachable, elegant style aligned beautifully with the type of weddings and events Sam wants to attract.

From there, we customised every detail to suit Sam’s brand and the feeling she wanted to create. Her colour palette, typography, and illustrations were carefully integrated throughout the site to ensure everything felt cohesive and personal. We focused on creating a calm, elevated atmosphere that would let her artwork take the lead while still giving the website a strong presence.
We also restructured sections of the template to better support her specific needs as a live event artist. Clear service explanations, an easy-to-follow process, and thoughtful calls to action were added so potential clients could quickly understand how to book and what to expect.
